Teach-In: The Occupy Movement as Ideology Critique

March 21, 2012 in Teach-In

In a previous teach-in we looked at the nature of class and class conflict. Now we turn to the nature of ideology, how it relates to our economic system, and how it functions in our daily lives. In particular, we’ll focus on ideological notions of individualism, social relations, power, freedom, and justice. We’ll find that the Occupy movement represents, in practice, a fundamental critique of dominant political and economic ideologies.
