UPDATE (OCT27 1:15 PM):
At approximately 1:30 AM Denver Police, destroyed the igloo built by Occupy Denver members as their last protection from the bitter winter.
Eye-witness reports state that at approximate 1:30 AM, at least 10 Denver Police Department officers used shovels, a battering ram, and heavy machinery to destroy the igloo in Civic Center Park.
Occupy Denver continues to be appalled at the excessive and wasteful expenditure of tax dollars put to the effort to stifle First Amendment rights by repeatedly destroying the infrastructure and symbols of the Occupy Denver protest.
UPDATE (OCT26 8:25 PM):
Tents stood for barely an hour when Denver Police ordered the removal of all shelter from the snow storm. Disabled veteran William Hall was forcibly removed from his tent by DPD officers and dragged off for arrest.
There is a continued heavy Denver Police presence at Civic Center Park, and DPD officers have vowed to use their resources to destroy an igloo built by Occupy Denver at 11 PM MST.

As the snowfall continues, exceeding 10″, the Occupiers on site at Occupy Denver have issued an
URGENT CALL TO ACTION
1. If you can have gear/equipment/clothing (including tents) to keep Occupiers warm and dry, please bring it down to Civic Center Park!
2. If *YOU* can dress warmly & come down to Civic Center Park – preferably with a video camera – bundle up and come on down – we need to rally people to support our protection from the elements!
3. If you can’t make it, please call or email Denver Mayor Hancock at 720-865-9000 or email@example.com
It’s cold, it’s wet, and we have people who are still occupying 24 hours a day, 7days a week. We aren’t going ANYWHERE!
These people are the heart and soul of this occupation and they need our support. Please bring down any and ALL winter supplies you can organize, including tarps, blankets, sleeping bags, etc.
Also, if you have the capability, please come down with your car, take some wet blankets, dry them and bring ‘em back!
Thanks for the support!
